The outpouring of support and concern surrounding Sara's death is evidence of Sara's impact on those who knew her and loved her. We are proud of her vitality, playfulness, charisma, and her hard work.


Sara enjoyed athletics. Alpine skiing was her favorite sport. She started skiing at the age of 3, raced with the Mount Mansfield Ski Club (more info), her high school team, and her college team. In high school she won "Most Valuable Player." In college she was the captain of the team and twice won the award as the best female racer in the McBrine Division (USCSA - Division 3).
In high school Sara played third singles the year her tennis team won the state championships. Sara was graceful and joyful at sports.

Academics were another strong are for Sara. She graduated in the top 10% of her high school class and made dean's list in college. Sara graduated from Brandeis University in 2000. She had considered going to law school, but changed her mind and was accepted to a psychology program at Columbia University where she hoped to start in September 2002.

Music was her special joy. The Madrigal group and her lead role in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, The Gondoliers, where highlights during high school. Sara participated in a CD with the Brandeis a cappella group, Up The Octave. If anyone wants a copy of the CD, please contact the Graysons.

Sara, we are so proud of you. Although your life was brief, you packed so much into it. We were lucky to have had such a dynamic 23 years with you.
